Using Virtual Care to Support Patients with Kidney Disease: Just 3 Questions with Carolyn Light
At UCSF, remote patient monitoring and/or virtual care are currently being used to monitor symptoms and support patients who have received lung transplants as well as patients who have inflammatory bowel disease (IBD).
The kidney transplant program recently deployed another innovative use with a small cohort of patients who are not yet on a waitlist for a kidney transplant. Using a chat developed in collaboration with Conversa Health, patients receive information about living donors along with other health recommendations. The director of the program, Carolyn Light, shares her vision with Just 3 Questions.
