CDHI’s digital product managers have strong experience in design thinking, lean product management, and user-centered design. They put this expertise to use to gain deep empathy for user personas, problems, and needs, and to hypothesize, test, and measure product concepts. The team develops our product strategy and roadmap, and works with engineering in an agile balanced team to launch minimum viable products (MVPs) and releases. Human Centered Design

CDHI's Design team possesses a broad range of skills in product and service design to develop solutions that always put the needs of our customers – patients, families, providers, and staff – at the center. Drawing on diverse experiences within healthcare, as well as innovation consulting, retail, entertainment, social services and financial service sectors, our team understands how to apply human-centered design methods and tools to address the variety and complexity of services and supporting technologies required. From envisioning, creating concepts, and designing solution strategies rooted in qualitative and quantitative research, to the detailed interaction and user interface design of purpose built applications, we start by understanding the core underlying problems, take a systems level approach to crafting solutions, and iteratively, continuously learn with our customers at every step of the journey. Data Science & Machine Learning

CDHI’s artificial intelligence and machine learning experts focus on data-driven approaches to extract knowledge and meaning from complex data to solve real-world problems. Our data analysts and data visualization experts with deep expertise in large- and small-scale data management and analytics, health care data and databases, data warehousing, quality assurance, data visualization, and clinical informatics. The Analytics team serves as collaborative subject matter experts on data strategies in the design and development of CDHI’s products and technical solutions, and also functions as the internal data collection, analytic, and visualization team, creating visually-appealing and easy-to-use dashboards and reports that anticipate and satisfy teams and end-user needs. Technical Development & Integration

CDHI has software engineering expertise in mobile, web, and API development utilizing secure, scalable, serverless cloud computing platforms, as well as legacy VM architectures.  We design and build patient and clinician facing apps, tightly integrate with the Epic utilizing SMART-on-FHIR, CDS Hooks, FHIR, and Mulesoft Anypoint. CDHI’s engineers are experts in healthcare data integration using HL7 v2, FHIR, and IHE, utilizing integration platforms such as Epic Interconnect, Mulesoft Anypoint, Infor Cloverleaf, and InterSystems Ensemble & HealthShare. Program & Project Management

The overarching approach to Program Management at CDHI is to ensure each Program’s projects of diverse scope, size, impact and budget, are monitored, resourced, balanced, prioritized, sequenced, risk-mitigated, coordinated, and successfully completed. Close partnership with stakeholders, clinical leaders, technical leads, cross-functional teams, and internal customers across UCSF as well as external vendor partners are key to Programmatic success within CDHI.



CDHI’s Project Management Office features expertise in the full life cycle of project management – from initiating project plans through planning, executing, controlling, and closing the work of a team – in order to achieve specific goals on time and on budget. Utilizing an array of methodologies, with advanced training and deep experience in Agile (e.g., Scrum, Kanban, SAFe) and Lean methodologies, the team effectively leads projects and cross-functional teams through the successful achievement of technical, process, experience, and innovation project goals within the health care delivery space.
