UCSF Health Vice President of Digital Health, Aaron Neinstein, M.D., Appointed to Health IT Advisory Committee
Congratulations to Aaron Neinstein, M.D., UCSF Health Vice Presidentof Digital Health, who was appointed to the Health IT Advisory Committee (HITAC) by the US Government Accountability Office (GAO).
Gene L. Dodaro, Comptroller General of the United States and head of GAO made the announcement this past December.
The 21st Century Cures Act, enacted in December 2016, established the HITAC. HITAC recommends to the National Coordinator for Health Information Technology policies, standards, implementation specifications, and certification criteria relating to the implementation of a health information technology infrastructure, nationally and locally, that advances the electronic access, exchange, and use of health information.
“I am thrilled to be appointed to the HITAC to represent UCSF and serve our country in advancing the next generation of standards and policies to better meet the needs of patients, improve their healthcare experience, and bring them the health information they need,” said Neinstein.
