Reading List: Proposed ONC Rule on Data Sharing, Interoperability, and Ending Data Silos Sparks National Conversation
The last two and a half weeks have spawned a flurry of coverage and discussion across the social spectrum on the imminent release of proposed regulations from the Office of the National Coordinator for Health Information Technology (ONC) on interoperability, patient access to their health information, and information blocking by vendors of certified EHRs and Medicare and Medicaid providers. This national conversation was sparked following a report by CNBC’s Christina Farr when she reported on the opposition of the regulations by Epic Systems.
