Response to ONC for Health Information Technology RFI on Electronic Prior Authorization Standards

A joint response from UCSF Health and UCSF’s Center for Digital Health Innovation (CDHI) to the ONC RFI on Electronic Prior Authorization Standards, Implementation, Specifications, and Certification Criteria. The team provided real-world examples of where patients and care teams are feeling burden and stress, and provided 10 government action recommendations and suggested that the Electronic Prior Authorization standards be anchored by a core set of patient-centered journeys and targeted clinical care outcomes.
