Otilia Barbu, PhD
Otilia C. Barbu, PhD, is a Sr. Data Scientist at CDHI where she applies computational and data science technology to develop novel solutions that aim to improve both clinical and operational aspects of healthcare delivery. Otilia has an international work experience having provided instruction and training services at several colleges and universities in Romania, Italy and the United States, and computational and statistical consulting services in three industries: leisure, education, and healthcare. Prior to CDHI, Otilia was founder and Chief Data Scientist for Super Resolution Analytics, a consulting data analysis and R&D startup. She also worked as a Data Scientist at SPH Analytics, a leader in healthcare and population health management, where she built predictive models in nephrology for Kaiser Permanente. Moreover, she collaborated with the University of Arizona where she had a significant contribution to the development and evaluation of two web-based intelligent educational systems and the evaluation of a new instrument that measures aspects of approaches to learning. Her research activity is reflected in several peer-reviewed scientific manuscripts published as first author, grant activity, and conference presentations. She earned her PhD in Ed Psychology from the University of Arizona with a focus on applied statistics, her Doctoral degree in Mathematics from the University of Rome La Sapienza, and her BS degree in Mathematics from University of Bucharest.
